Filing an Unemployment Claim in Idaho

It is always best to file for unemployment as soon as possible after your last day of work. This is because benefits will only go back to the date you filed your claim, not your last day of employment.  In Idaho State you are able to file your initial claim for unemployment insurance benefits three ways:

Information Needed to Apply for Idaho Unemployment Benefits

No matter which way you plan to file your initial claim, it is important that you have the following information available to make the application process easier and faster:

• Your social Security number (SSN)
• Your driver’s license or State issued ID card number
• Your mailing address, city, state and zip code
• Complete and correct information on your last employer
• Your last day of work prior to applying for unemployment
• Why you are no longer with your employer
• States you have worked in within the past 18 months other than Arkansas
• If you are not a citizen of the USA, you will need to provide your work authorization number

Applying for Idaho state unemployment insurance does not mean that you will automatically receive them.
